Letter - The type of a written correspondence containing a text or/and a document which is provided on a paper to be delivered in a sealed form, in an envelope.
· Letter weight: up to 250 g;
· Letter size: minimum 90X140 mm; maximum - 240X340 mm; maximum thickness: 5 mm;
Postcard - The type of a written correspondence which is a special printed form made of a thick firm paper or a cardboard designated for provision of a written text on it to be sent/delivered in an open form, without an envelope.
· Postcard weight: up to 20 g;
· Postcard size: minimum 90X140 mm; maximum - 120X235 mm;
Small package - The type of a written correspondence containing both printed as well as handwritten material provided on a paper, documents and photos, and certain items, in case if their sending/receiving with the status of a small package does not conflict with the legislation of Georgia, the acts of Universal Post Union and the rules established by the recipient country or by Georgian Post.
Small package weight: up to 2 kg (a written correspondence with up to 5 kg weight which appears in a consistent shape without being broken, is an exception);
Small package size: minimum - 90X140 mm; maximum - 240X340 mm; maximum thickness: 50 mm;
M bag - The type of a written correspondence containing books, papers, periodicals and other similar products, addressed to one addressee.
M Bag weight: up to 30 kg
M Bag circumference: 120 cm.
Hybrid letter – The type of a letter to be received through the means of electronic communication, is provided in a material form (on a paper) and, depending on the will of the sender, is delivered to the addressee in the open form (without an envelope) or sealed (in an envelope).
· Hybrid letter weight: up to 100 g;
· Hybrid letter size: minimum - 90X140 mm; maximum - 240X340 mm; maximum number of pages: 15.
Simple package – A post delivery item (a postcard, letter (including hybrid letters) and a small package) that, when handing them to the post office is not assigned an identification number is sent without being added/attached to the accompanying documents and is delivered to the addressee without a signature.
Registered package - A post delivery item (written correspondence (except postcards) and a parcel that, when they are handed to the post office, are registered and are assigned an identification number; they are sent added/attached to the accompanying documents and are delivered to the addressee through providing a relevant signature.
An insured package (with an announced price) – a registered letter, a small size package or a parcel which is sent with its contents insured at the cost declared by the sender. The cost of insurance declared/nominated by consumer/client should not exceed the real cost of the package contents; the declared amount should not be more than 10 000 GEL.
Terms for Delivering
Delivering terms for written correspondence are as follows:
Ø D+3 – except for the mailing units received/to be delivered at special administrative units;
Ø D+5 - for the mailing units received/to be delivered at special administrative units;
Qualitative standard for meeting the established time terms is as follows:
ü For written correspondence -80%
· D means the day of receiving a mailing unit by Georgian Post Ltd. to which the number of the indicated working days is added.
· Special administrative units - Mestia (3200), Stepantsminda (4700), Dusheti (1800), Tianeti (2500), Tsageri (5100), Lentekhi (2900) administrative units.
