·        Prohibited items – items whose import into the country is prohibited.    

·        Items admitted conditionally – items whose importation into the country is allowed with the term if a document issued by the relevant authorities of the exporting country is presented.    

·        Items admitted without conditions – items whose import into the country is allowed.

Part II:
Conditions of admission of articles imported or in transit
 
1. Animals and animal products
 
1.1 Bees, leeches and silkworms
Import is permitted provided a health certificate has been obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Veterinary Medicine Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
 
1.2 Products of animal origin and apiary products for human nutrition
The following certificates are required for import:
a)   concerning health accuracy (sanitary findings)
b)   concerning quality (market inspection)
Animal products for animal nutrition or for other purposes (consignments for individuals, in quantities intended for home use are excluded from these requirements). A certificate from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Veterinary Medicine Office – is necessary for import, as well as a certificate from the Ministry of one of two
existing entities(Veterinary) and a certificate from the Ministry of one of two existing entities(Trade).
 
 
2. Plants and plant products
 
Live plants, bulbs, roots and the like, cut flowers and ornamental foliage.
Consignments containing plants or their parts (seeds, seedlings, rhizomes, bulbs, tubers, etc.) that may contain pests
or parasites are subject to obligatory sanitary inspection performed by phytosanitary authorities at the frontier. Imported consignments of plants have to be accompanied by a health certificate issued by a competent authority for the protection of plants in the country of origin. General phytosanitary control provisions must be supplemented by special provisions sometimes, depending on the origin of the consignment. For details of these regulations, apply to the address of the
appropriate Ministry3.
 
2.1. Edible vegetables, fruits, coffee, tea, spices and salt
Consignments for individuals, in quantities intended for home use, are excluded from these   requirements. The following certificates are required for import: certificate from the appropriate Ministries(Sanitary Findings) and from the appropriate Ministry(Market Inspection).
 
2.2 Cereals and flour; vegetable oils and fats; cocoa, products based on cereals, starch, sugar and products based on sugar, pastry, products based on vegetables, fruits and other parts of plants, and other foodstuff
Consignments for individuals, in quantities intended for home use, are excluded from these requirements. The following certificates are required for import: certificate issued by the appropriate Ministries(Sanitary Findings) and the appropriate Ministry(Market Inspection).
 
2.3 Seeds
For the purpose of import, it is necessary to insert a phytosanitary findings certificate issued by the appropriate Ministry.3
Edible seeds, oleaginous fruits, vegetable saps, extracts and concentrates can be imported if the certificates are issued
by the following authorities: the appropriate Ministries(Sanitary Findings) and the appropriate Ministry(Market Inspection).
 
 
3Anti-parasite products for agricultural use
 
For the purpose of import, it is necessary to enclose the certificates of the appropriate Ministries (Sanitary Findings, Market
Inspection and Phytosanitary Findings).
 
 
4. Beverages, alcoholic fluids
 
For the purpose of import, it is necessary to enclose the certificates of the appropriate Ministries (Sanitary findings and Market
Inspection).
 
 
5. Tobacco
 
For the purpose of import, it is necessary to enclose the certificates of the appropriate Ministries (Sanitary Findings, Market
Inspection and Phytosanitary Findings).

6. Narcotics
 
Narcotics and psychotropic substances; plants and parts of plants, extracts and resins containing dangerous drugs may be imported if the Ministry of Foreign Trade has issued a license and if the appropriate Agency for Drugs has agreed to their import.
For all further information on these regulations, apply to this Ministry.
 
 
7. Pharmaceutical products
 
Pharmaceutical products (medicines, vaccines and the like – consignments of medicines for the private use of individuals are excluded from these regulations):
a) for human medicine, licenses from the appropriate Ministry and the appropriate Drug Agency are required;
b) for veterinary use, a license from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Veterinary Department – is required.
 
 
8. Cosmetics and toilet products
 
Consignments for personal use in quantities intended for home use are excluded from these regulations. Certificates from the appropriate Ministry (Sanitary Findings and Market Inspection) are required for import.
 
 
9. Substances harmful foozone
 
A license is needed from the appropriate Ministry.
 
 
10. Rubber articles
 
Consignments for personal use in quantities intended for home use are excluded from these regulations.
A certificate from the appropriate Ministry (Sanitary Findings) is required for the import of hygienic and pharmaceutical rubber products.
 
 
11. Books, brochures, newspapers, printed matter
 
Subject to conditions regulated by international agreements.
 
 
12. Natural or cultured pearls, precious stones and metals, articles thereof, imitation jewellery
 
12.1 Precious metals and articles thereof
If intended for sale, a license from the authorized bureau is required4.
 
12.2 Items intended for personal use made of precious metals and other materials (glass, ceramic, wood, etc. e.g. spoons, knives, plates); imitation jewelry; human hair and wigs; wind instruments; contact lenses
Consignments for personal use in quantities intended for home use are excluded from these regulations. A sanitary findings certificate on health accuracy has to be issued bythe appropriate Ministry.
 
 
13. Measuring instruments
 
May be imported only with the approval of the appropriate Ministry.
 
 
14. War material
 
It is necessary to insert the license issued by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, accompanied by the agreement of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
 
 
15. Machines fogames, toys
 
Toys may be imported on production of a health certificate (Sanitary Findings) issued by the appropriate Ministry.
