14. Legislation relating to zoonosis
 
Checked by the official veterinarian (of the frontier service). Document as per Annexe B (issued by the aforementioned veterinarian following his checking).
 
 
15. Protectioof species
 
The importing of single specimens, parts or products of species listed either in Annex I to the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, or in Annex C, part 1 (C1) or part 2 (C2), of Decree No VO 3626/82, is subject to presentation of authorization delivered in a European Union member state and, in addition, an export permit or reexport declaration delivered in the foreign country in question.
The importing of single specimens, parts or products of species listed either in Annex II to the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species is subject to presentation of an export permit or reexport declaration delivered in the country of origin, and an import declaration issued by the customs office in question.
The importing of single specimens, parts or products of species listed either in Annex III to the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species is subject to presentation of a certificate of origin or, in the case of reexportation, a declaration of reexportation.
 
Note: Given the very considerable volume of the catalogue of goods in question, this list does not contain all the identification codes relating thereto.
 
 
16. Fertilisers
 
No specific documents required for the import of fertilisers (check performed by customs services).
 
 
17. Phytosanitary products
 
Certificate issued by the Federal Phytosanitary Office.
 
 
18Animal feed products
 
No specific documents required for the importing of animal feed (checks performed by customs services).
 
 
19. Arms
 
Permit to carry weapons. Document certifying that arms are held legally, for persons not residing in the territory of the Federal
Republic of Austria: certificate issued in accordance with § 27 of the Law on the carrying of weapons. In certain cases, an exemption from the requirement to present the aforementioned documents may be granted.
 
Note: Prohibited arms and munitions are also prohibited for import.
 
 
20. War material
 
Import licence issued by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Directorate-General of Public Security.
 
 
21. Munitions and explosives
 
Import licence issued by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Directorate-General of Public Security.
 
 
22. Provisions for tests and trials relating to firearms
 
Import to be declared at the relevant test centre, through the customs office.

 
 
23. Telecommunicatios law
 
Import licence issued by one of the telecommunications offices, which form part of the Federal Ministry of Science and Communications.
 
 
24. Goods thaare the subject of a monopoly
 
Import licence issued by the competent service of the Federal Ministry of Finance.
 
 
25. Waste and used oils
 
Import licence from the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Youth and the Family; also, a "dangerous waste and used oils dispatch note" in the case of dangerous goods (identified as such in the import licence) or used oils, and a "waste transport notification form" for articles identified as such in the import licence.
 
Note: As waste and used oils are not easily defined, and have consequently resulted in the preparation of a very voluminous catalogue of goods, this list does not include the restrictions in this area.
 
 
26. Pornography
 
Universal ban on import and transit, for commercial purposes, of the objects in question.

Special provisions, Customs and other
 
 
1. Provisions relating to distinctive marks
 
Checking of manufacturers' marks on goods performed by the customs services.
 
 
2. Legal provisions relating to hallmarking
 
Transmission of goods, under the surveillance of the customs authority, to the competent National Office.
 
 
3. Safety of products
 
Checking, by Customs, that the safety rules that apply to the particular product are respected.

Supplementary information
 
 
Articles admitted conditionally for importation into Austria
 
Infectious perishable biological substances, provided that their quantity does not exceed the maximum limits in force in Austria, namely:
•   100 ml per inner packaging and
•   500 ml per outer packaging;
 
and that the provisions of the following are observed:
•   European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR);
•   the Dangerous Goods Regulations of the International Air Transport Association (IATA–DGR); and
•   articles 16.2 of the Universal Postal Convention and RL 129.1 of its Detailed Regulations.
 
The dispatch to Austria of non-infectious perishable biological substances is still admitted on the conditions laid down in articles 16.2 of the Universal Postal Convention and RL 129.1 of its Detailed Regulations.
 
 
Special provisions concerning importation into Austria
The sending in registered items of the valuable articles mentioned in article 15.6 of the Universal Postal Convention is no longer admitted.
